Loved the experiment and loved the book! When I first read the blog, I remember how difficult I found it to read the accounts of each day side by side. After a few weeks of exploring options to purchase it, I finally bought one copy from Amazon. But even more so, best friend is I hope this would strike a chord with the man who broke my heart.
Some of the text is sideways and her story doesn't always line up with his story, so you end up having to go forward and back several pages to understand what's going on. That sort of affected the way I read the second half of the journal entries, so for those of you who haven't read the book, please try to resist the temptation to flip to the back! This pretty much hits that spot in a very nonfiction way. Somehow I was really hoping I'd find it extraordinary. It took me a few weeks after getting the book to read it. Can two people develop enough feelings for each other to override their shortcomings?
What happened to Jessica and Timothy the friends who dated for 40 days
This was a mostly enjoyable and quick read, but I can definitely see it working better as a blog. What happens if you screw up your friendship? It was interesting to read about the different female and male perspectives and to see what the end result of the experiment was! There is no paperback version!
Although I kind of suffer while reading each day's challenge and emotions it was the perfect book to read and question my love patterns, dying light be the zombie surely everyone's got one. Are we afraid to go after what we really deserve? We talked about our families more than we ever did before.
Perhaps I am just a snob about organization, but it infuriated me that I was reading them side by side when one person was writing about June and the other was writing about August. The long distance scared him, and he broke off the relationship when she got back. It spurred me wondering if I would ever be bold enough to undertake such an experiment with a male friend of mine. But I do save money, while I think she spends.
Well, she and I ended up talking about this Forty Days of Dating project the entire time. In the end, I skim-read much of the second half, basically trying to find a the days where they had sex, and b whether they ended up going out in the end. It seems to me his dating style could result from this. An interesting read that does a great job at examining the differences in dating between men and women.
But the second time around, I identified much more with Tim. It cuts into a lot of the deign work when turning to the next page, which is frustrating when the writing and art communicate with one another. Hopefully we can have some fun along the way, too. When someone does that, your natural inclination is to tell them something extremely private back.
The play is about a bunch of college students going to parties, getting drunk, having sex, and their complicated interpersonal relationships. Many of the images were cut off, too. Obviously if she had been more into him than he was, it would have been too cliche.
